Hannah and John

When I was asked to photograph the wedding of Hannah and John at Priory Cottages I was so excited as it's a venue I absolutely love photographing. Priory Cottages is situated in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and consists of a huge converted barn with several surrounding cottages. The wedding party takes over the whole estate which allows the couple to put their stamp on the venue and transform it into their personalised bespoke wedding, which Hannah and John really did take advantage of. This wedding was beautiful.... the venue, the finishing touches, the weather and the gorgeous couple....the photographs really are special.

The day started in one of the cottages getting ready with the bridal party. The bridesmaids wore floor length blush gowns, in keeping with the ivory and blush colour scheme of the wedding, and Hannah looked stunning in her lace , mermaid style wedding dress. The ladies all wore ivory pearls in their tousled hair, really channeling the beautiful boho vibe which I just love!

My favourite pictures are the unposed ones that capture the instant, genuine reactions of the people at the wedding. In particular I love capturing the moment the bride is revealed to her bridesmaids....

Whilst I hung out with the bridal party, my second shooter spent the morning with the groom and his groomsmen....who all looked very handsome! They all worse navy suits which complimented the blush colour scheme wonderfully.

The ceremony took place in the barn. The exposed wooden beams were draped in twinkling fairy lights which really gave a magical and romantic feeling the room....

I tried something a little different for the traditional confetti shot and it really paid off. I love the affect of this over head shot!

After the ceremony we all headed outside for a champagne reception and the official wedding photographs.

And now just the newlyweds...

The Wedding breakfast and speeches took place in the main marquee, which Hannah and John had made look gorgeous, with the abundance of flowers, the flower arch, the table centre pieces and the favours....it all looked so special and personalised!

If the weather is being kind and time permits, I like to steal the newlyweds away in between the wedding breakfast and the night do to get some pics of just the two of them. As the sun sets, the natural light created is a photographers dream. The low sun creates a beautifully, romantic warm glow....

We then headed in to cut the cake and party the night away...

The first dance. The couple had arranged for a confetti bomb to go off during the first dance which I always think looks great!

Towards the end of the night all the guests were handed sparklers and created a 'sparkler arch' for Hannah and John to walk through...
